John Gilbert's Color Screen Test from 1935
My, he still looked dashing!!!
Color screen test for Desire, which in the end was filmed in black and white, and didn't star him. The test was made on Marlene Dietrich's intervention.

John Gilbert's speech in front of the court in Redemption (1930)
Переглядів 17 тис.8 років тому
John Gilbert final speech in his first Talkie "Redemption" from 1930. The movie itself isn't great, but his acting most of the time is. And his voice isn't silly or funny sounding as some people at the time said. I like it. I like him.

guys, i found the whole thing, and the part where the audio dissapears is just talking about how she walked away to nevada and how after a decade of hard work, she could finally settle down as the paycheck from fox financed her dream ranchhouse and then it just plays music as the pictures slide through ^_^

When I see pictures of Clair she seems she was the inspiration for betty boop. Clair is timelessly the inspiration to me. She had so many drawbacks with her family, including trauma and dysfunction... and yet life for her was a challenge, not a problem. Its truly awesome what we can do when we view life differently. ❤ clair is my inspiration... 🏆

Apparently, Tallulahs last words whilst dying in hospital were 'Bourbon, Codeine' in that order! I can relate to that! They just don't make legends like her today! And it's always great to see Hugh Herbert! It's such a shame she didn't make more films, but she preferred the stage and the bright lights of Broadway. Bette Davis ''channelled” Tallulah in 'All About Eve', even down to the dress she wore.

I wish more women and Hollywood actresses were like Clara Bow. I am young and I would marry the first woman like her, I would love to have a 1920s style wedding! Too bad most women have a body count of 30+ and constantly have to remind us they don't need a man. Too bad, that is why most women are single in their 30s/40s and heavily medicated with depression medication.
